Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 April 2026
Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to MapVerse. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and MapVerse, an organization owned and operated by DreamFire Studios. By accessing or using the MapVerse website, services, servers, launchers, browsers, or any features (collectively, the “MapVerse”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use MapVerse.
Accounts & Access
- You may need to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental permission to use MapVerse.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, fraud, or violations of these Terms.
Maps, Content & Ownership
Users who upload original creative content (“Mapmakers”) maintain full ownership of the maps, assets and descriptions (collectively known as “UGC”). By publishing UGC on MapVerse you grant MapVerse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, transmit, and distribute that UGC as required to operate and promote the Service (including short previews, thumbnails and social media posts).
Players may download or play maps according to the terms set by the specific mapmaker. You acknowledge that we are not the creator of any maps on the platform that do not explicitly state “MapVerse” as the mapmaker and that we do not actively review every map for compliance beyond automated and manual moderation processes.
Mapmaker Revenue & Advertising
MapVerse aims to help mapmakers earn revenue. To cover hosting and development costs and to share revenue with mapmakers, we run small, non-intrusive advertisements on the site and may surface in-game chat ads when applicable. Specifics:
- Revenue share: We will share a portion of ad revenue with mapmakers according to the amount displayed on the Revenue page of the MapVerse.net website.
- Payments: Pay-outs are subject to verification and minimum thresholds. MapVerse reserves the right to withhold payments in cases of suspected fraud, policy violation, or dispute.
Servers & Performance
One of our core features is instant server provisioning so players can “click and play” without manual setup. You agree:
- To use servers in compliance with these Terms, applicable game rules, and any additional server-specific rules.
- That server availability and performance may vary. We strive to spin up worlds quickly (our infrastructure is designed to be lightweight and vanilla-compatible), but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- We do not host or operate official Minecraft servers for Mojang/Microsoft; MapVerse interoperates with Minecraft-compatible worlds and software.
User Conduct
You agree not to use MapVerse to:
- Violate any law or the rights of others (including intellectual property or privacy rights).
- Upload malware, cheats, exploits, or content intended to harm systems or other players.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other users.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or interfere with our servers or infrastructure beyond what MapVerse permits.
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, and cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
MapVerse is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, MapVerse disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In no event will MapVerse, its owner (DreamFire Studios), affiliates, or partners be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of MapVerse. Where a jurisdiction does not permit some limitations, those limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold MapVerse and its owner harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your UGC, or your use of MapVerse.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to MapVerse or any account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use MapVerse will end and certain information may be deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.
DMCA, Copyright & Takedown Requests
MapVerse respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. If you believe that content on MapVerse infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may submit a takedown request to bear@dreamfire.dev.
Your notice must include the following information (as required by applicable law):
- Your full name and contact information (email address and, if applicable, postal address);
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing (please include the exact URL if possible);
- Proof that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
- Your electronic or physical signature.
Upon receiving a valid notice, MapVerse will review it promptly and may remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content. In appropriate cases, we may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights.
If you believe content was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the same email address, providing sufficient explanation and evidence of your rights. We will assess counter-notices in good faith in accordance with applicable law.
Safe Harbor & Hosting Provider Status
MapVerse acts solely as an intermediary hosting service. We do not review or pre-approve user submissions, and we are not responsible for user-generated content unless we obtain actual knowledge of infringement. Upon receiving valid notice of infringing material, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to such material in compliance with applicable law (including the EU Digital Services Act and the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, where relevant).
By using MapVerse, you acknowledge and agree that MapVerse operates as a platform that hosts content provided by users, and that MapVerse is not the publisher of such content. Users remain fully responsible for the materials they upload, distribute, or otherwise make available through the Service.
Privacy
Collection and use of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy. By using MapVerse you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Continued use of MapVerse after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in this country, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Miscellaneous
- If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and MapVerse regarding usage of MapVerse.
- These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
