Terms

“Policy”: This privacy policy as a whole.
“MapVerse”: https://mapverse.net and any related MapVerse in-game Minecraft servers, official browsers or official launchers.
“User”: Any persons with accounts for MapVerse.
“Player”: Users that play/use/download UGC on MapVerse.
“Mapmaker”: Users that create UGC on and/or for MapVerse.

Information we collect

Account information: Any email addresses, usernames, passwords (hashed), any links to other platforms, 2 Factor Authentication details and profile pictures that you have submitted.
Gameplay data: Unique player counts, map plays and session activity to calculate Mapmaker pay-outs and to improve MapVerse as a whole.
Technical data: IP addresses and cookies for security, analytics and service performance.
Payment data: Limited information necessary to process Mapmaker payouts (such as PayPal emails, account numbers, sort codes and IBANs). Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers.

How we use your information

To operate and improve MapVerse as a whole, including making our service more efficient.
To calculate and process Mapmaker pay-outs.
To personalize the browsing and discovery experience.
To prevent fraud, abuse and security threats.
To communicate updates, changes and support issues with you.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to store preferences, maintain sessions, and measure site usage. You can control cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies may impact some features of MapVerse.

We do not sell your personal data.
We share information with service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processors) who help us operate the platform.
We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or enforce our Terms of Use.
Aggregated, anonymized statistics may be shared publicly (e.g., total unique plays per month).

Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide our services and for legitimate business purposes (security, analytics, legal compliance). Accounts can be deleted by contacting us or by pressing the “Delete account” button on the “Account” page.

We use industry-standard security measures (encryption, access controls) to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

Children’s Privacy

MapVerse is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the site. The date at the top of the Policy will be updated accordingly.
