MapVerse Creator Payout Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2025
1. Overview
This Creator Payout Policy ("Policy") explains how MapVerse shares revenue with creators who publish maps on our platform. The goal is to provide a transparent, fair, and sustainable way to reward creators and help the Minecraft mapmaking community thrive.
2. Revenue Pool
Each calendar month, MapVerse allocates 50% of our total net revenue to a Creator Revenue Pool. This includes revenue from:
- Website display ads.
- In-game chat ads that may include affiliate links.
- Affiliate commissions: We currently receive 50% commission for each server purchased through our partner’s website using our affiliate links.
The remaining 50% of revenue is used for hosting costs, infrastructure, development, moderation, and other operational expenses.
3. Distribution to Creators
The Creator Revenue Pool is divided among participating creators based on the number of unique players who played their maps during that month.
For example:
- If the platform had 1,000 total unique map plays in a month, and your map accounted for 250 of those unique plays, you would receive 25% of the entire Creator Revenue Pool.
- Each unique player is counted once per map per month, regardless of how many times they play that map within the month.
4. Eligibility & Requirements
- Creators must have an approved MapVerse account and a connected payout method (PayPal or bank transfer where supported).
- Maps must comply with our Terms of Use and any content guidelines.
- Payouts may be withheld for fraudulent traffic, bot activity, or Terms violations.
5. Payment Schedule
Payouts are processed on a monthly basis, typically within 30 days after the close of the month. Minimum payout thresholds may apply (e.g. $10). Earnings below the threshold will roll over to the next month until the threshold is met.
6. Adjustments & Changes
MapVerse may adjust this Policy at any time to reflect changes in monetization models, ad partnerships, or business needs. Creators will be notified in advance of material changes.
